ABOUT ALASKA CHOSEN
Alaska Chosen is a youth sports and mentorship program that helps young people in Alaska connect with coaches, mentors, and scholarship opportunities. Through social media, online showcases, and in-person events, we give athletes a safe and welcoming place to grow and be noticed, whether they live in a small village or a big city.

Alaska Chosen uses simple storytelling, online outreach, and steady support to shine a light on young athletes, create paths to scholarships, and encourage families and communities to stay involved in sports and education.
The History
Nonprofit organizations in the United States are relatively modern, but helping others has been part of human history for centuries. The Juanita Strong Forever Project started on May 29, 2020, and represents a new kind of giving. It was created by Erica Theresa Lolesio, a mother who turned her grief into action.

Her daughter, Juanita Raquel Lolesio, was a young woman full of promise who was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting. After this loss, Erica made it her mission to help at-risk youth and families, giving them hope and guidance.

Through dedication and care, the Juanita Strong Forever Project works to help families heal. We focus on the good in each person and aim to transform lives from pain into hope.
The Narrative
The Juanita Strong Forever Project was created out of love and care, inspired by a mother’s heart. It began after the tragic loss of her eldest daughter, who was a victim of gun violence. The project works to support, educate, and uplift youth and their families. Through training, education, and charitable programs, we help young people make healthy and successful life choices.
